12th issue of China-EU carbon Market Dialogue and Cooperation Project held in Shanghai

       July 3-4, 2019, sponsored by the Shanghai Eco-Environment Bureau, the “Shanghai Eco-environment System and Enterprises in the National Carbon Trading Market Capacity Building Training Session ” hosted by the “China-Europe Carbon Market Dialogue and Cooperation Project” was successfully held in Shanghai. 

       Mr. Zhu Yi from Shanghai Eco-Environment Bureau and Mr. Wang Wei, a core expert in the China-EU Carbon Market Dialogue and Cooperation Project, attended the meeting. More than 170 people from all districts in Shanghai and representatives of companies incorporated national carbon trading system participated in the training session.

Opening speech by Mr. Zhu Yi from Shanghai Eco-environment Bureau

       The training invited experts and scholars from the Environmental and Economic Policy Research Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai Information Center, Shanghai Environmental Energy Exchange, China Huadian Group, SinoCarbon Innovation &Investment Co.,Ltd. The training was hosted by Mr. Liu Liang, brand operation director of SinoCarbon Innovation &Investment Co.,Ltd.

       In this training, the experts and scholars systematically explained the latest policy system and progress of the national unified carbon market construction, comprehensively analyzed the principles and core elements of the carbon market mechanism, and carefully shared the quota allocation principle, MRV system responsibilities, key points of performance and market supervision., scientific analyzed the construction of corporate carbon asset management system, to help the enterprisesfully understand the essence of carbon trading and corporate carbon trading strategy.

Experts and scholars giving lectures 

       The training organized a roundtable discussion session, inviting experts and scholars from Shanghai Information Center, Huadian Group, Shenergy Co., Ltd, Baowu Group, Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd, Metallurgical Industry Research Institute, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University China-UK Low Carbon Institute. In-depth discussions on the actual cases of the domestic carbon market pilots will enable participants to learn more about the different pilots of carbon emission trading and the excellent experience of different industries.

       This training has helped the eco-environment departments and enterprises in various districts of Shanghai to further grasp the latest policies and rules of the carbon market and make positive contributions to Shanghai's work on climate change.
